This conversion gives the user the ability to quickly connect and disconnect their hose to their reservoir. This is very useful when removing the reservoir from the pack for cleaning or filling. The installation comes down to 3 easy steps:
1) Remove the fixed connector from the reservoir. This can be accomplished by hand. It helps get more leverage if you leave the hose on the fitting. Give it a quick, sharp tug to the fitting and it should come out. If that doesn't work, pull the hose off and pull the fitting out with a pair of pliers. Watch this 30-second YouTube video to see how to use pliers to remove the fitting.
2) Install the Plug N Play valve into the reservoir. Simply press the valve into the port of the reservoir. It is not necessary to add lubrication to the valve or port for this step.
3) Install the hose-end fitting. First, remove the fixed connector if it is still attached to the hose. We recommend that it be cut off with a pair of scissors. Second, moisten the barbs on the new hose-barb fitting and insert it into the tube.
Here is a 1-minute video that shows the complete process from beginning to end.
The final step is to apply a small amount of silicone, glycerin, or bees wax to the o-ring on the fitting. Not too much! Just enough to make the o-ring shiny.
That's all. Well done!
